Understanding Campaigns
Learn how Campaigns empower you to engage your community member to give back through memorial programs, sponsorship opportunities, and volunteer activities.
What is a Campaign?
It's one of our most powerful features in the only tool you need ... but what is it actually?
Campaigns in SeeMyLegacy provide a structured way to engage community members in contributing toward initiatives such as memorial programs, sponsorship opportunities, and volunteer activities. Campaigns are a simple way for your community members to contribute, celebrate, and support meaningful causes. Campaigns allow for you to create lasting memories, sponsor impactful events, and drive positive change in your community to foster a more connected community.
What Types of Campaigns Can I Create?
You can use Campaigns for nearly any purpose you can dream of - these are how we think about the types of Campaigns you can create, but the options are unlimited!

What Makes Up a Campaign?
There are two core things that make up a Campaign -
- Overview - High-level information about the Campaign's goal and guidelines
- Items - Each Item is an individual giving opportunity that a community member can claim or adopt to further the Campaign's progress.
What Makes Up a Campaign:
Campaign Overview
In a Campaign Overview, this is where you can add the high-level information that will help engage your community members and share more information about your goals. It includes this information -
- Campaign Name
- Start and End Dates
- Photos
- About the Campaign
- Campaign Guidelines
- Supporting Documents
What Makes Up a Campaign:
Campaign Items
Campaign Items bring visibility to how community members can participate and highlights the generosity of those who have participated.
Items break down what can be given back (Available) and what has been given back (Donated).
- Available Items - Specific opportunities for community members to give back through donating, sponsoring, or volunteering.
- Donated Items - Individual contributions that have been made to the Campaign and the details of who made it possible.
How Community Members Participate in Campaigns
Campaigns allow your Community members to take part in giving back by adopting specific Items within the Campaign. They are designed to help do the work for you so that your community members can participate easily with great visibility into what and how they can contribute.
Adopt an Item with Payment
For any Item that has a price and the payment feature activated, your donors can securely check out online to adopt the Item.
Examples: memorial programs and sponsorship opportunities
Claim a Volunteer Slot through a Form
For any Item where you are requesting time and labor, your volunteers can fill out a form online to claim the slot.
Examples: community cleanups, special events, or youth programs
Behind every Item is a button that says 'Adopt this Item' - your community members will see either a Stripe payment link or a form link behind that button. They are able to 'claim' that specific giving opportunity (an Item) by submitting payment or a form.
How to Celebrate through Campaigns
Campaigns are living and breathing records of generosity within your Community. As Items are adopted, the status converts from Available to Donated and your Campaign becomes a celebration!
Donated Items highlight those who have given back and can allow your community members to share a digital Story. You can celebrate generosity even more with a Digital Story told through a QR Plaque!
- Donated Item - Once adopted, the Item will show the contributor's name and dedication details.
- Digital Story - Using our QR Plaques, your contributors can use the digital Story to share the meaning behind their gift physically and digitally.
