How Amory Main Street Built a System That Scales

Amory Main Street Inc. was running events out of a patchwork of disconnected tools, stitching together Google Forms, PayPal, and printed spreadsheets by hand. Since launching on SeeMyLegacy in May 2026, Strategy & Programs Director Lindsay Mitchell has replaced that process with a single, professional-looking system: one that handles hundreds of vendor applications without a hitch, lets committee members manage their own categories, and finally gives her real time back.

Why Amory Main Street Partnered with SeeMyLegacy

Before SeeMyLegacy, Amory Main Street pieced together JotForm, Google Forms, and PayPal to run its events, with staff manually reconciling payments and printouts by hand.

The impact reached beyond event logistics. Reconciling revenue at the end of each month used to mean piecing together multiple systems by hand.

“Nothing was cohesive. Payments through Google Forms wouldn't always go through, so then it had to go through PayPal, and then we'd have to link it back together and print out the sheets to see what was paid. It was a cluster.”

One Platform, Two Organizations

Amory Main Street and the Amory Railroad Festival are separate nonprofits, but Lindsay runs both. SeeMyLegacy's support for multiple users and multiple disbursement accounts means both organizations operate side by side on one platform, each with its own branding, its own funds, and its own campaigns, without forcing Lindsay to manage two separate systems.

“Amory Main Street and Amory Railroad Festival are two different nonprofit organizations. I just happen to be over both of them.”

The result functions as a community hub. Someone who comes to register for the Railroad Festival now sees Main Street's other programs alongside it, and vice versa, turning every campaign into a discovery point for the rest of what Amory has going on.

Delegating to a Committee, Not Just One Director

The Railroad Festival draws a high volume of applications, including more than 350 for craft vendors alone. Before SeeMyLegacy, all of that would have run through Lindsay directly. Now, individual committee members manage their own categories: one person oversees food vendors, another manages craft vendors, each with visibility into only their piece of the event.

“The committee for Railroad Festival, everybody's got their own. It's not me looking at everything.”

A Professional Look That Speaks for Itself

Committee members and vendors started noticing the difference immediately, without being asked. One committee member signed up as a test applicant just to see the process from a vendor's perspective, then texted Lindsay directly after receiving the confirmation email, unprompted praise that had nothing to do with a survey or a formal feedback request.

Amory's craft vendor lead heard similar feedback across the board.

For an organization that used to look homemade, in Lindsay's words, that shift in perception matters as much as the time saved.

“Everybody has had such great feedback liking the new website. It's so much easier.”

Solving Real Logistics Problems

Amory's ticketed events, including the Polar Express Movie Experience, used to mean staff working from a spreadsheet at the door, searching by hand through a printed list while a line built up behind them.

“When you've got 200 people in a line out the door, that takes a long time to find that one individual name, make sure they've got two tickets bought, make sure it's already paid for. This is going to be a game changer for us.”

Digital, scannable tickets replace that process entirely, turning a bottleneck at the door into a quick scan and go.

A Decision That Paid for Itself

As an underfunded nonprofit, Lindsay weighed the cost of SeeMyLegacy carefully before signing on, but the value became clear fast.

“This was going to cost a little bit of money, but what was my time management going to look like? Now, I would pay double. Not that I want to, but that's how convicted I am about this program.”
