Keep Louisiana Beautiful - Love the Boot Week Volunteer Opportunities
About the Campaign:
Love the Boot Week: Help Clean and Beautify Minden
Love the Boot Week is Louisiana’s largest statewide litter removal and beautification effort, and the City of Minden and Minden Main Street District are inviting residents, businesses, schools, and organizations to join the effort. This week-long initiative empowers communities to take pride in their neighborhoods by organizing cleanup projects, improving landscapes, and spreading awareness about litter prevention.
During Love the Boot Week, volunteers across Louisiana work together to remove litter, plant trees and flowers, restore gardens, and improve public spaces. In 2025 alone, more than 26,000 volunteers contributed over 81,000 hours, removing 514 tons of litter and planting thousands of trees and plants across all 64 parishes.
In 2026, Minden will participate in this statewide effort while celebrating America’s 250th birthday by encouraging community members to show pride in both their country and their hometown. We encourage everyone to wear Red, White & Blue.
On Friday, April 24, 2026, we will come together as the "official clean-up day" in Minden where everyone comes together to make this initiative successful. A "kick-off" party where supplies can be collected will be held at the civic center at 8am. This will be sponsored by the Greater Minden Chamber, The City of Minden and the Webster Parish CVB.
Please see the list of volunteer opportunities to register. If you want to participate in a project that isn't listed, please do so by selecting the "Community Clean Up Team." If you are an individual that wants to get plugged in, please select the "Individual Volunteer." All Businesses, organizations, schools, neighborhoods, and individuals are encouraged to organize projects, volunteer with a team, or simply commit to picking up litter and making Minden shine.
If you and your organization cannot attend on the 24th, please select a different day throughout the week under the "Community Clean up Team" selection.
