About the Campaign:
Join the Halloween Spooktacular Downtown Fun!
Downtown Morganton’s annual Halloween Spooktacular returns Friday, October 30, 2026, bringing families and local businesses together for an afternoon of trick-or-treating and Halloween festivities. Downtown businesses are invited to participate by handing out candy at their storefront, reserving a space on the Historic Courthouse Square, and entering the Halloween Window Decorating Contest. The community celebration also includes a Halloween carnival, free hayrides, entertainment, inflatables, a witches dance, a Sanderson Sisters performance, and a free costume contest.
Merchant trick-or-treating runs from 3:00–5:00 PM, while activities on the Courthouse Square continue through 6:00 PM. Participating businesses help create a welcoming, walkable Halloween experience that connects families with Downtown Morganton merchants while encouraging visitors to explore and support the downtown community.
