Amory's downtown is more than a collection of storefronts, it's the heart of our community. The Downtown Facade Grant Program, administered by Amory Main Street, is here to help business and property owners bring new life to the buildings that define our commercial district.

This competitive grant program provides eligible exterior improvements to buildings facing public streets or public parking areas within the program area. If selected, Amory Main Street coordinates everything: working directly with you to determine the final scope of improvements, hiring licensed contractors, and managing the project from start to finish. Your role is to apply, contribute your required cash match, and watch your building transform.

Eligible improvements include:

• Awnings
• Exterior painting
• Windows
• Exterior doors
• Exterior lighting

Who can apply: Existing business owners and commercial property owners within the eligible program area. Tenants may apply with written authorization from the property owner. All applicable property taxes must be current.

How it works: Applications are reviewed competitively by the Façade Grant Review Committee. Selected applicants contribute a required cash match. Members of Amory Main Street contribute less than non-members. Amory Main Street then procures, contracts, and pays for all approved improvements directly. You do not hire contractors or purchase materials independently.

What to include in your application:

• Current photographs of the property (full front façade, areas proposed for improvement, any damaged or outdated features)
• A detailed description of the improvements you are requesting
• Renderings, sketches, or inspiration images if available (not required)
• Property owner authorization if you are a tenant

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding or improvements. Grants are awarded at the sole discretion of the judges and Amory Main Street, Inc. Funding and improvements are subject to availability, eligibility, program guidelines, development standards, and approval by the Façade Grant Review Committee.
