Installing Your Physical QR Plaques

Learn how easy it is to append your QR Plaques to your Physical Items

Connecting the Digital and the Physical: Items Power Digital Stories

Items represent an asset or object that exists in your Community and can be placed on a map. Appending one of our aluminum QR Plaque to an Item physically means that anyone who sees the plaque can scan the QR code to learn more about the Item and its Story. This is likely already a familiar practice with memorial items, signage, donor walls - you want to recognize the donor with a physical marker.

Types of QR Plaques

QR Plaques make saying thank you simple and powerful - SeeMyLegacy offers three types of QR Plaques, designed for your use case. All are anodized aluminum plaques with a QR code that links to a customizable Digital Story.

Story Dedications

Story Dedications are similar to your traditional plaque with a custom message - these are typically installed on memorial items or on a recognition wall.

Story Tags

Story Tags are a smaller plaque with just the QR code - these are best used to enhance and share information about physical objects, landmarks, or dedications that have an existing plaque.

Story Boards

Story Boards are larger plaques, designed to highlight a successful initiative or event and all of its donors and/or volunteers. These are best used when you would rather celebrate the entirety of a successful initiative than gift to each individual donor or volunteer.

How to Install QR Plaques

Before installing a QR Plaque, be sure that the linked Item is marked Posted = Yes and the Story Status is marked = Complete - this will ensure the Story can be seen when scanned from the physical plaque.

How to Install -

  • Clean the surface area where the plaque will be placed to ensure there is no debris.
  • If possible, pre-drill holes with a drill bit for a smoother installation.
  • Install plaque with a screw for each hole (4x).
  • We recommend to install these in a flat surface where community members can access them and scan easily at eye level - a good point of reference is around 5'2" for the average person.
